Staying at Jumel Terrace Books Bed
and Breakfast is an experience you will never forget. All guests
have access to the Jumel Terrace Books, an antiquarian bookshop
specializing in Harlem Heights local history, located on the ground
floor of the house.
This 1891 brownstone townhouse is across the historic Morris-Jumel
Mansion, the oldest house in Manhattan, and around the corner you’ll
be walking on cobblestones in Sylvain Terrace, a block of wood-framed
row houses from 1882. The garden apartment is suitable for a maximum
occupancy of three persons; it features a large bedroom, a sitting
room with a single bed, a fully equipped kitchen, including breakfast
food supplies, private bathroom and a beautiful garden with a gas
grill.
An additional room with private bath is available
on the second floor. Both accommodations have cable TV and internet
access, although the collection of rare books surrounding you in
this beautiful home, will make you forget the very existence of
modern day entertainment systems.
Jumel Terrace Books Bed and Breakfast also has rooms for private
functions, which are available upon request. Should you choose to
visit the city in style, private tours in a black 1976 Checker Marathon
car driven by a knowledgeable guide/driver are also available.
