  Brooklyn Bridge

The well-known Brooklyn Bridge was one of the first bridges to be built with steel and during the decade of its construction, was the longest suspension bridge in the world. The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Beginning in 1893, construction of the Brooklyn Bridge took more than 15 years, making it one of the largest projects completed during that era.

The bridge is made of steel and granites; the steel-wires are fastened to the towers located at the ends of the bridge. The bridge has 6 lanes, (3 Manhattan bound and 3 Brooklyn bound) and an elevated walkway for pedestrians and cyclists.

A visit to Brooklyn Bridge is mandatory for leisure tourists to admire the wonderful Manhattan skyline from a unique viewpoint.
