DESCRIPTION

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The MET also known as The Met (located on the famous Museum Mile) is the largest and most comprehensive art-museum in the world. The Building occupies 1.5 million sq ft (31 times the size of American Football field) and its collection includes more than 2 millions objects and every year more than 5 million people visit.

The original building faced Central Park (1874 – 1880), the 5th avenue façade (1902) the north and south wings (1911 – 1913) were later on added to the original structure.

The permanent collection includes works of art representing the Greek and Roman Arts, Ancient Egypt Arts, Asian Arts, paintings and sculptures from the European Renaissance to the 19th Century, and a collection of American Modern Art.
