Itinerary American Gateway in 4-Day

1st Day: New York – Finger Lakes – Niagara Falls

In the morning, you will depart from the Big Apple heading north on your way to Buffalo you will pass the beautiful Delaware Gap to Watkins Glen State Park in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Here, you will stop for a walk through Watkins Glen Canyon and visit the stunning waterfalls, after the sightseeing you will continue towards Seneca Lake to reach Niagara Falls in the late afternoon. Once arrived at Niagara Falls you will visit the American Side of the Falls including Goat Island and Sister Island and at night you will tour the falls to appreciate the colorful lighting of the waters. You will spend the night at the: Overnight: US - Comfort Inn the Pointe. Canada - Ramada by Wyndham

2nd Day: Niagara Falls – New Jersey

Leaving the hotel in the morning you will have a chance to explore the falls up-close from the Horse Shoe Falls and you will then hop onboard the historic vessel Maid of the Mist (May-October) for a scenic cruise where you will be able to almost “touch” the falls. In the winter (November to April) you will instead tour the Scenic Tunnels, a journey behind the falls, where you have great photo opportunities. At noon, you will depart south towards New Jersey and on the way, you will stop for a shopping spree at one of the largest outlet malls along the way, find your own bargain! Early evening arrival in New Jersey. You will spend the night at the: La Quinta Inn & Suites, Clifton, NJ

3rd Day: New Jersey – Philadelphia – Lancaster Country – Washington DC

In the morning you will leave New Jersey and head south to reach Philadelphia. Upon arrival,  you will embark on a panoramic tour that includes: Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Elfert Alley, the oldest inhabited street in America, and much more. You will arrive at the famous and historic Constitution Square where you will visit some of the oldest monuments in America including Constitution Hall and the famous Liberty Bell. Leaving Philadelphia, you will pass by the famous “Rocky Steps”, the 72 stone steps before the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. You will leave Philadelphia and proceed towards Lancaster County home of the Amish people. You will start with a ride on an authentic Amish Buggy (the traditional Amish carriage) through the Amish farm country, and learn how this community still leaves without the use of modern technology such as electricity, running water, telephone service or general appliances. After the ride, you will visit the characteristic Amish marketplace where you can find extraordinary handmade arts crafts and typical products. In the late afternoon, we start to get to Washington DC. You will spend the night at the: Fairfield Inn & Suites Alexandria.

4th Day: Washington DC – New York

In the morning you will start with a visit to the Memorial dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, the area is known as the Tidal Basin, if you are lucky to do this tour during the spring you will be enchanted by cherry trees that surrounds it. This time of year Washington has a popular National Cherry Blossom Festival, next we will visit the famous Arlington National Cemetery to assist at the changing of the guards and visit the Kennedy family gravesite. The tour will continue to see Capitol Hill, the White House, the Mall, where all major museums are located, and where you will stop for a visit to the Air and Space Museum, you will then proceed towards the national monuments park and you will visit some of the most important memorials including the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, Martin Luther King, and Korean War Memorial and Vietnam Memorial. Late afternoon departure to New York for an early evening arrival.

Notes on Tours outside the U.S.A.

  • All passengers are required to have a current valid passport on the day of travel.
  • All passengers are required to have proper identification when entering or leaving the United States (e.g. Visa - Immigration documents)
  • Passengers without the proper travel documents to cross and visit Canada can still join this tour. In such event, the passenger will remain at the hotel on the American side, and will not join any part of the tour that will take place in the Canadian territory.
  • You will be able to join the boat ride on the Maid of the Mist as this departs from the American side of the Falls. You will get to see the American Falls and the Canadian Falls from the boat.
  • During the winter months, when the Maid of the Mist is not operating, you will be able to walk to the Falls on your own. There are no substitute attractions on the America side of the Falls.
  • The Tour is escorted by professional Tour Guide; please note the Guide might narrate in more than one language.
  • No meals or beverages included unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Wheelchair accessible, please advise at time of booking if wheelchair assistance is required.
  • In order to participate in this tour passengers must provide proof of full Vaccination 14 days prior to arrival at the Canadian border.
  • The hotels used on the tours could be in some instances changed, in this event the alternate hotel will be of equal or better quality.
  • Please note only 1 piece of Luggage per person is allowed + 1 small carry on

Map & Directions

This tour conveniently departs from Midtown West in Manhattan by the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street. You can easily reach the departure point by walking or utilizing public transportation. The closest Subway Stop is "42nd Street - Times Square" (1, 2, 3 red line + 7 purple line + A, C, E blue line + N, Q , R & W yellow line and S shuttle from/to Grand Central.)
The departure point is within walking distance from/to many hotels located around the Theater District, Midtown West and Hudson Yards. If you opt for a car service (i.e. Yellow Cab, Uber, Lyft etc.) the complete address is – 330 W 42nd Street New York, New York 10036.

Please note that once you have arrived by Port Authority, you will have to head to the south-side of 42nd Street (outside the bus terminal) between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue towards the middle of the block. The buses will be lined up on the south-side of 42nd street.
