The Stress-Free Way to See NYC’s Top Sights

Now You Choose All Five

New York CityPASS® has changed, and the change is a good one. The pass used to lock in two attractions and let you pick three. Now you choose all five — from a list of ten of the city's biggest sights.

Two of those ten are new for 2026–27: Edge Observation Deck at Hudson Yards, and the Whitney Museum of American Art at the foot of the High Line. The savings went up at the same time — up to 51% against standard adult admission.

One purchase, five attractions, nine days to use them, and no need to decide anything at checkout.

Who Is This Pass Recommended For?

CityPASS® suits travelers who want the headline sights handled in a single purchase, without building a spreadsheet around their trip. It covers the admissions; you keep the flexibility.

The new format also makes it genuinely useful for people who have been to New York before. If you've already stood on the 86th floor, you're no longer paying for it.

Ideal for travelers who value:

  • Full choice over which five attractions they visit
  • Major NYC highlights bundled in one transaction
  • Time saved on planning and ticket queues
  • Nine days of validity for a relaxed pace

Our tip: nine days is generous — use them. Two major attractions in a day is comfortable. Three is a march.

CANCELLATION: We offer a full refund on any unused CityPASS® products for up to 365 days from the purchase date. Refunds are not available on any portion of a CityPASS® product once an attraction has been visited, or where uncanceled reservations exist.

Detailed Description

New York CityPASS® simplifies sightseeing without narrowing it. Ten attractions are on the list; you take five, in any combination, and you decide which ones after you've bought the pass — not at the moment of purchase.

The Ten Attractions

The Views

Empire State Building Observation Deck
The AM/PM Experience: the 86th Floor Observatory and the 2nd Floor Museum, plus a bonus same-night return visit. Go up once in daylight and once after dark — it is the same view and a completely different city.

Top of the Rock® Observation Deck
Three levels of indoor and outdoor terraces at Rockefeller Center, with the Welcome Gallery and access to The Weather Room Cafe & Bar. This is the view most people are picturing: Central Park to the north, the Empire State Building to the south.

Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experiencenew to the pass
The highest outdoor sky deck in the city, at 30 Hudson Yards, with 360° skyline views and immersive indoor elements. The angle is what makes it worth adding: you are west of Midtown, looking back at it.

The Museums

American Museum of Natural History
General admission to more than 40 galleries, plus one ticketed extra of your choice, subject to availability: the Invisible Worlds experience, the Davis Family Butterfly Vivarium, a giant-screen film, a special exhibition, or the Hayden Planetarium Space Show.

9/11 Memorial & Museum
General admission to all exhibitions and rotating galleries. Give it more time than you think you will need.

Intrepid Museum
The Space Shuttle Pavilion, the submarine Growler, the immersive Kamikaze experience and all temporary exhibitions, aboard the aircraft carrier at Pier 86.

Guggenheim Museum
The permanent collection and special exhibitions inside Frank Lloyd Wright's spiral, plus an architecture tour (Monday to Saturday) and a free multilingual digital guide on your own phone.

Whitney Museum of American Artnew to the pass
General admission to all exhibitions, in the Renzo Piano building at the southern end of the High Line. One of the best-placed museums in the city for an afternoon.

The Harbor

Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island
The only authorized ferry access to the Statue grounds, with a self-guided audio tour and admission to the Statue of Liberty Museum and the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. Crown and Pedestal access are not included.

Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises
One regularly scheduled cruise, your choice of Landmarks, Liberty Midtown, Liberty Super Express, Best of NYC, Harbor Lights, The Beast, Downtown Beast, or Statue at Sunset.

How to Choose Your Five

We have been sending travelers around this city since 1979. If you asked us at the desk, this is what we would say.

Take one observation deck, maybe two — not three. They are all remarkable and they are also, from a distance, the same idea. If you take two, take two with different geometry: the Empire State Building and Top of the Rock look at each other, and Edge sits west of both.

Pair the two downtown sights. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum and the Statue of Liberty ferry both sit in the same corner of Lower Manhattan. Ferry in the morning, museum in the afternoon. It makes one full, heavy, memorable day.

Pair Circle Line with the Intrepid. Pier 83 and Pier 86 are a few minutes apart on the West Side. A harbor cruise and an aircraft carrier make an easy half-day together.

Give the museums their own time. The American Museum of Natural History is a half day by itself. The Guggenheim, on Museum Mile, and the Whitney, in the Meatpacking District, are lighter — and the Whitney sits at the base of the High Line, which is by far the best way to arrive.

If you have been to New York before, the new format is your advantage. Skip the Empire State Building entirely and build the pass out of Edge, the Whitney, the Guggenheim, Circle Line and the Intrepid — five things most returning visitors have never done.

Reservations and Timing

Several attractions require or strongly recommend advance reservations, and the popular slots go early — typically the Empire State Building, the 9/11 Memorial Museum, the Circle Line cruise, the Intrepid Museum and the Statue of Liberty ferry. Make them through the My CityPASS® app as soon as your tickets arrive, not once you land.

How It Works

Tickets are delivered to your phone through the My CityPASS® app, which also handles reservations, attraction details and maps. The pass activates the first time you enter an attraction or make a reservation, and then runs for 9 consecutive days. Unused, it stays valid for one year from the date of purchase.

What the Pass Does — and What It Doesn't

CityPASS® is an admissions product. It gets you through the door efficiently and for considerably less, and it does that very well. What it doesn't do is tell you what you are looking at.

Most of our clients pair it with one of our private walking tours — the pass for the tickets, a private local guide for the city itself. If you are choosing the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, our FiDi, Wall Street & The 9/11 Memorial™ tour covers the ground around it. If you are taking the ferry, the same is true of our Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island™ tour.

CANCELLATION: We offer a full refund on any unused CityPASS® products for up to 365 days from the purchase date.

Refunds are not available on any portion of a CityPASS® product once an attraction has been visited or when uncanceled reservations exist.
