Event Overview
The celebration kicks off on Sunday, December 31, starting at 6 pm. Witness an array of performances and the dazzling ball drop as we
welcome 2024.
Performers and Entertainment
Starting at 6 pm, enjoy performances from Megan Thee Stallion, Flo Rida, Maria Becerra, Yng Lvcas,
Paul Anka, and more. The event will also feature Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest and CNN’s special hosted by Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.
Tuning in to the Event
Can't make it to Times Square? No problem. Watch the
live stream starting at 6 pm on TimesSquareNYC.org, TimesSquareBall.net, or tune-in one of the major networks – CBS, ABC, etc.

free to attend in person.
Street Closures and Arrival Time
Streets close starting at 4 am, and parking restrictions apply. Plan to arrive as early as possible for a good view, with entrance to viewing areas on a
first-come, first-served basis from 3 pm.
Viewing Area Access Points
Enter the viewing area from:
- 49th Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
- 52nd Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
- 56th Street from 6th and 8th Avenues
General Tips
- Dress warmly and check weather forecasts for proper attire.
- Bring snacks and water, but remember that large bags and coolers are not allowed.
- Portable toilets are not available and you will not be able to leave your spot for a potty break and then come back to the same spot – so plan accordingly!
New Year’s Eve Ball Design
The 12-foot diameter geodesic sphere Ball, adorned with 2,688 crystal triangles, will illuminate Times Square with over
16 million colors and billions of patterns. This year the pattern is a special Bowtie!
History and Significance
A tradition since 1907, the NYE Ball is a symbol of hope and renewal. This year's ball showcases designs symbolizing love, wisdom, happiness, and more.
